You know when you see a date, and you know that in some year that has passed, it’s been really important because you’ve burnt it in your brain, but you can’t put your finger on it? It used to happen to me a lot in primary school - 21st September was when I would go to Port Macquarie for a holiday, and it just happened to land on that date a couple of times.

I went to put an appointment in my calendar on the 17th of May, and I got that feeling. 17th of May, 2011, was the night Ishmael opened. A year ago, I would have been in final rehearsals for my first, legitimate acting role. Crazy shit.
